A cycle path runs alongside the D559 between Fréjus and Saint-Aygulf, the town’s seaside district. The Étangs de Villepey wetlands, where flamingos can be seen, are close by.
Fréjus is ancient Forum Iulii, founded on Julius Caesar’s initiative. By bike you can link the amphitheatre (840 m), the Lanterne d’Auguste, a landmark for sailors at the mouth of the Roman harbour (1.1 km), and the aqueduct arches in the Villa Aurélienne pine grove.

No licence is needed for bikes. The minimum age is 8. In France a helmet is compulsory for cyclists under 12; the shop provides one with every rental.
